Australia is home to some of the world’s leading thoroughbred stallions, and stallion managers play a key role in their care, management and presentation.

This role involves overseeing the day-to-day care of stallions, managing a skilled team of staff and ensuring each horse remains in peak physical and mental condition.

During the breeding season, the stallion barn is one of the busiest areas on a stud farm. Stallion managers are responsible for coordinating coverings, managing safety and welfare, and working closely with the broader farm team to ensure mares and stallions are handled professionally and with care.
