Thoroughbred Breeders Queensland Association Ltd

The Association was established in the 1950's and originally beared the name the Queensland Bloodhorse Breeders Association of Queensland. Its founding President was Charles Hope. Other noteable Presidents included Perc Kruger (late 1960's), whose son Merrell has also served a significant period as an Association Office Bearer and is presently serving on the Association's Committee; Colin McAlpine (17 years); Basil Nolan, who held office as President for 11 years and is presently Association Vice-President; and Immediate Past President Peter Overell,who held office for approximately 9 years.

The Association became incorporated in 1980. The Association changed its name in the 1990's to the Thoroughbred Breeders Queensland Association Inc. The Thoroughbred Breeders Queensland Association Inc. presently has a membership of over 200.

The Association is represented on the Queensland Thoroughbred Breeders & Owners Association (QTBOA) which is associated with the supervision and management of Super QRIS in conjunction with the Queensland Principal Club (QPC).
