Magic Millions is an innovative bloodstock auction house where graduates are the only horses eligible to compete in closed races worth over $5 million. At least one yearling from a Magic Millions catalogue each year is guaranteed to win a $2 million race - the richest run in Queensland and one of the richest in Australia.
The first sale in 1986 saw a fairly moderate catalogue of 220 yearlings go under the hammer. Out of that first sale came four starters in the 1987 Golden Slipper - Snippets, Mother Duck, Prince Anton and Boasting. The first sale was a staggering success, not only because the average of $30,000 was well above expectations, but because top racehorses emerged at an extraordinary rate from this and subsequent Magic Millions Sales. Champion Australian 3YO Mahogany, Melbourne Cup winner Subzero, as well as Derby and Group One winners too numerous to mention. This record is second to none in comparison with other bloodstock sales around the world.
The Magic Millions Sales and Races have spread with such rapidity that they're now being held in awe in some of Australia's most beautiful locations from the tropical atmosphere of Australia’s Gold Coast, to the beauty of Adelaide, Perth, Tasmania and to the unique delights of Penang, Malaysia, there is really something for everyone.
Magic Millions has offices on the Gold Coast as well as in Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth, and representation in New Zealand - for further information, contact us here.

William Inglis & Son Limited - Established in 1867
William Inglis & Son Ltd was founded on the basic principles of honesty and integrity, its great success and longevity attributed directly to these simple but all-important ideals.
This is a company where every detail matters and superior client service is of the utmost importance.
The Inglis family are still involved in the day to day running of this business, with both Jamie and Arthur Inglis, within the firm.
Managing Director Mark Webster brings an extensive knowledge of print and digital media to the firm, having held a senior position with News Limited for the past eight years.
A History of Excellence
William Inglis & Son Ltd is a family owned company that commenced operations in 1867 selling farm produce. Soon after the company expanded into selling a wide range of livestock, horses, vehicles and other machinery at a number of sites throughout Sydney, the most notable being the auction house situated on Pitt Street in the Sydney CBD.
The bloodstock operation commenced in 1906 in rented premises known as Newmarket at Randwick. In 1917 William Inglis & Son purchased Newmarket for 50,000 pounds.
Developed and upgraded over the years, the world renowned Newmarket site is headquarters for William Inglis & Son today, and boasts a first class sales arena with seating for over 1000 people, plus four stable complexes accommodating up to 600 horses.
Set on 11 acres of landscaped gardens, just 6km from the Sydney CBD and 10km from the Kingsford Smith International Airport, Newmarket represents a unique blending of history, with all the convenience of modern day practicality.
Thoroughbred Auctions Newmarket Complex, Sydney
William Inglis & Son Ltd stages a busy schedule of thoroughbred auctions during the year, covering all aspects of the breeding and racing industry, from weanlings and yearlings, through to broodmares, stallions and tried racehorses.
The Australian Easter Yearling Sale, conducted at Newmarket every Easter, is the flagship event on the Inglis calendar, attracting the finest young thoroughbreds in the Southern Hemisphere, as well as buyers from all over Australia and throughout the world. It is the barometer for all thoroughbred interests in Australasia and has become an integral part of the Australian horse racing culture.
While Easter is undeniably the high point of the year for William Inglis & Son, it is just the high-profile elite end of the market. The William Inglis Yearling Sale Series comprises five (Easter, Premier, Classic, Autumn and Scone) specific yearling sales designed to cater to every level of the bloodstock industry in Australasia.
Newmarket in Sydney plays host to the Easter and Classic Sales, while Oaklands, the Victorian base of William Inglis & Son, stages the Premier and Autumn Yearling Sales. The Scone Yearling Sale conducted in May is the most successful country sale in Australia.
Oaklands Complex, Melbourne
The company's expansion into the progressive Victorian market in January of 1994 has added new dimensions - with the establishment of an annual calendar of Inglis bloodstock sales.
The Oaklands complex is approximately 30km north of the Melbourne CBD on 100 acres of land on which the company has refurbished, upgraded and built seven stable blocks accommodating over 600 horses, as well having a world class indoor sales auditorium.
The success of the Super Vobis Scheme in Victoria (Owner and Breeder Incentive Scheme) has contributed to the depth of the racing industry and has added greatly to the appeal of Victorian bred horses sold at Oaklands.
