Analysis of last season’s Australian Group races reveals the vast majority of feature race winners come from a broodmare’s ‘First 4’ foals. An exclusive report in the May Issue of Australian Breeding&Racing Magazine (published today) found “72% of Australia’s Group winners & 77% of Gr1 winners last season came from a broodmare’s first 4 foals.”
The analysis confirms a finding by The Blood-Horse magazine that 63.6% of US 2002 Graded events were won by ‘First 4’ foals
