WABBA has confirmed that the Magic Millions Leading Sire Award will be presented at the WABBA function prior to the Premier Yearling Sales. This falls into line with the Broodmare of the Year and Breeder of the Year Awards, already presented at that time.

WABBA believe that the criteria for this award should remain as in previous years and in line with the rest of Australia.

• Stallions to be standing in their respective State.

• Stallions to have progeny racing in that state (i.e. must have stood in that state for three seasons).

• Only Australian prizemoney to be taken into account.

Although WABBA did not agree with WATC's decision to include overseas prizemoney it certainly did not think or make any implication that the WATC committee had any personal motives in making their decision nor did it imply that breeders would boycott the awards night.
