Coolmore
Australia has released the service fees for the 16-strong contingent of
stallions visiting Australia this season.
Coolmore will be banking on Australian breeders insatiable appetite for Danehill
by setting the first season fee for seven-time Group 1 hero Rock Of Gibraltar at
a whopping $132,000.
This first season fee has only been bettered by Giant’s Causeway, which stood
the 2002 season at $137,500 but drops significantly this year to $93,500.
Of the other stallions new on the roster this year Johannesburg will stand for
$27,500, Tale Of The Cat $22,000 and Danehill Dancer, which stood at Collingrove
Stud last season for $19,250, will have his fee increased to $27,500.
The majority of Coolmore stallions will have service fees reduced this year.
They include (with last seasons fee in brackets) Faliyev $22,000 ($27,500),
Fusaichi Pegasus $93,500 ($110,000), Galileo $49,500 ($55,000), High Yield
$16,500 ($22,000), King Of Kings $11,000 ($16,500), Mull Of Kintyre $6,600
($7,700), Orpen $7,700 ($11,000), Peintre Celebre $24,750 ($35,750), Royal
Academy $27,500 ($30,250), Spinning World $16,500 ($19,250) and Thunder Gulch
$22,000 ($27,500).
Desert King is the only stallion that served last year not returning in 2003.
