 20. Chanteclair Filly Tops Perth Classic Field

07/03/2003

Buster’s Yousha, a filly Chanteclair, is the highest qualifying runner for $102,000 Sportingbet Australia Perth Magic Millions Classic at Ascot on March 8.

Buster’s Yousha, winner of the prestigious Queen’s Plate at her fourth race start last Saturday, is one of two starters trained by David Harrison and has drawn barrier three.

Buster’s Yousha was one of the first lots to be sold at last year’s Perth Yearling sale.

She was knocked down to Harrison for $11,000, and to date has earned $32,505.

She is by Chanteclair out of the good race mare Regal Rebecca, a winner of eight races and $116,850

Her full sister is listed for the second day of selling at next week’s Magic Millions sale at Belmont Park.

Harrison’s other runner, the Metal Storm filly Rose Of Thunder, is the second highest qualifier having netted $22,790 from two starts early in the season including a win over stablemate Buster’s Yousha.

Rose Of Thunder was purchased for $50,000 and was bred at Mungrup Stud. She is by Metal Storm from Zanta Rose, a half sister to top class NZ filly Stone Rose.

Recently deceased Mungrup Stud stallion Don’t Say Halo sired three of the Classic runners.

They include Warwick Bradshaw’s filly Halo Quest, who is closely related to the promising young Sunday Silence stallion Fuji Kiseki.

A full brother to Halo Quest is entered for next week’s sale.
