Thoroughbred marketing body Aushorse will run an informal seminar for people
interested in owning a racehorse - to coincide with the first annual Stud and
Stallion Day on July 20 in the betting auditorium at Randwick racetrack.
High profile speakers will outline ownership options including syndication,
leasing, yearling selection and the auction system, and related issues such as
insurance during the seminar, which starts at 2pm.
"Aushorse has run several ownerships seminars in conjunction with William
Inglis & Son in Sydney to coincide with sales, and we've had an enormously
positive response from people who would like to become racehorse owners, but are
not sure what option is best for them," said Aushorse spokeswoman Bronwyn
Farr.
"Many of our seminar participants have since become owners or part-owners
in racehorses," she added. "Participants have the opportunity to meet
industry personalities and have their questions answered by the experts.
"The ownership seminars are an effective way for Aushorse to encourage
growth in our domestic market," said Farr. "We're pleased to have the
opportunity to participate in a day that promises to be quite exciting, with
many Aushorse members also present."
The inaugural Stud and Stallion Day is fast taking shape with studs including
Coolmore, Darley, Vinery, Inverness, Emirates, Chatswood, and Cedar Brush Farm
taking part, along with organizations such as Lawton Thoroughbreds and media
such as Australian Bloodhorse Review.
Information on a wide range of industry facilities and services will be
available and proceeds from the day will be donated to Mission Australia.
The ownership seminar kicks off at 2pm.
There is no cost for the seminar but places are limited. Register online at www.racenet.com.au
or call Aushorse on 02 6545 9329.
Inquiries about the Stud and Stallion Day may be directed to William Inglis
& Son Ltd on 02 9399 7999, with a limited number of exhibition spaces still
available.
