 37. Adelaide Sale: A Colt to Sweep You Off Your Feet

06/02/2003

One of the biggest tragedies of the Australian breeding year in 2002 was in premature loss of Forty Niner’s brilliant young sire son End Sweep.

With his first crop showing early ability in Australia at present and his northern crops enjoying great success, progeny by End Sweep are now sought out by many potential buyers.

Those attending this month’s Adelaide Magic Millions Yearling Sale at Morphettville will get the opportunity to buy any of his three young representatives.

Among them is lot 126, a bay colt, from Alick and Joy Rasheed’s Zahia’s Lodge.

SABIS qualified the colt is from the unraced Danehill mare Danamani, who’s only runner to date is the recent city placegetter Fuji Lass.

Coming from a proven black type female family, Danamani is a full sister to the Group Three and dual Listed race winner Vigil.

Both Vigil and Danamani are from the lightly raced Comeran mare Comely Lass, who is a half sister to the Group One Elders Mile Handicap winner Caledonian Boy.

Members of the impressive family also include the One Thousand Guineas winner Lady of the Pines and the Melbourne stakes winner Heaps of Fun.
