A full sister to Innovation Girl will be sure to have admirers at the 2003 Australian Easter Yearling Sale. The filly was originally entered for the Premier Yearling Sale but the rise of Innovation Girl to her current standing as one of the nation’s finest three year old fillies required a rethink on where her yearling sister would be best placed.

Easter won out and Willow Park Stud as agent will prepare the filly for her breeder Trent Caruana who has a small property at Somersby up near Gosford.

Astute agent Les Young of Doncaster Bloodstock purchased Innovation Girl’s dam Bright Gleam for Caruana at the 2001 June Thoroughbred Sale in Melbourne for just $30,000. At that time the mare had yet to throw a winner and was offered in foal to Rubiton, with Innovation Girl’s yearling sister the result of that mating.
Glenn Burrows of Willow Park Stud is thrilled to be putting the polish on such a marketable filly.

“She’s got a great hindquarter and is very strong through the hocks,” said Burrows. “A lot like her sister really from what I’ve seen. That same Rubiton head and built for speed.”
