Major
management moves have been announced by breeding giants Coolmore and Darley
Australia.
Duncan Grimley, joint general manager of Coolmore’s Australian operation in
the Hunter Valley for seven years, has resigned.
However he will continue to work with Coolmore Australia as a consultant.
“The last seven years have been an exciting time, “Grimley said.
“I want to step back from the day-to-day involvement, but I am delighted to
accept Coolmore’s offer to remain as a consultant.”
Darley Australia has appointed Alastair Pulford, a leading bloodstock agent and
formerly manger of private sales with the Magic Millions group, as its
nominations manager.
A native of Zimbabwe, Pulford was a handicapper there prior to spending a year
in South Africa working with bloodstock agent Robin Bruss.
He moved to Australia in 1987 to work for South Australia’s ABCOS agency
before joining Magic Millions in 1999 where he his duties included yearling
selection and private sales.
Olly Tait, manager of Darley Australia said: “We are delighted to have a
person of Alastair's experience and expertise on board. He will be a great asset
for Darley, at a time of exciting expansion.”
