Dehere keeps
rolling out the winners

stallion Dehere just keeps punching out stakes winner after stakes winner. The
latest stakes winner in America is the two-year-old colt Soto (ex Subtle
Fragrance by Crafty Prospector) who charged down the center of the track to take
out the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes G2 at Churchill Downs. Keeping his record
intact to a perfect 3 for 3, Soto became Dehere’s 41st stakes winner and looks
set for an exciting three-year-old campaign.
"He's a lovely looking horse," said trainer Michael Dickinson. "I
wanted to go for the Breeders' Cup, but the owners thought it was too much, too
soon," added Dickinson. "Then we were going to Laurel (for the
Futurity), but we had to scratch out because it was an off track. So we came
here."
Also stakes placed on the weekend was Take Charge Lady (ex Felicita by Rubiano)
Dehere’s top-flight three-year-old filly that placed second in the Falls City
Hcp G2 and Outta Here (ex Just Out by Forty Niner) a two year old who placed
third in the Generous Stakes G3 on the turf at Hollywood Park.
Last weekend Dehere’s 40th stakes winner returned back to win another stakes
event at Hollywood Park. Jockey Mike Smith and trainer Jenine Sahadi teamed up
with the 2-year-old filly Puxa Saco to win Saturday's seven-furlong $100,000
Moccasin Stakes L.
After breaking sharply, Smith settled Puxa Saco about two lengths off the lead
for the first three furlongs. As the field neared the half-mile pole, Smith
began to move her into contention for the lead and she quickly collared the
early pacesetter Watching You. Those two matched strides through the turn and
into the stretch when Puxa Saco took command. With slight urging from Smith,
Puxa Saco drew off from Watching You in the final furlong to win by two lengths.
