 1. First Stakes Winner For Peintre Celebre

01/12/2002

The Elie Lellouche-trained two-year old filly Vallee Enchantee ran out a commanding 3-length winner from the colts Rios (Lost World) and Maxwell (Anabaa) in the Listed Prix Isonomy at Saint-Cloud on Friday to become the first stakes winner for Coolmore Stud’s champion Peintre Celebre.

It was the second win in three starts for the Wildenstein bred Vallee Enchantee, which made her debut with a third at Saint-Cloud in September before running out a three-length winner of a 9 furlong maiden at Maisons-Laffitte in October.

A half sister to the Prix De Vichy (G3) winner Victory Cry (Caerleon), Vallee Enchantee is out of the top class racemare Verveine (Lear Fan), winner of the Prix de l’Opera (G2) and placed on the French Oaks (G1), Prix Saint-Alary (G1) and Hong Kong International Cup (G3).

A start in the Group 3 Prix Vanteaux at Longchamp in May is the immediate goal for the progressive Vallee Enchantee.
