His Excellency Nasser Lootah’s Emirates Park Stud was one of the more active buyers at todays William Inglis and Son August Thoroughbred Sale at Oaklands Junction.

Emirates Park secured the top three broodmares at the sale, including the top lot Coppelius which fetched $88,000.

Coppelius is an American bred daughter of Pleasant Colony, out of the Stakesplaced Sadler’s Wells mare Lilian Bayliss.

Lilian Bayliss is the dam of Strike A Blow, a stakeswinning son of Red Ransom. This is the family of Agnes World.

Coppelius has not been to stud, and was offered by George Footit’s Tasman Park at Romsey.

The second top priced broodmare was Strategic mare Primary Vision, which was sold in foal to last seasons leading first season sire General Nediym.

Emirates Park snapped up Primary Vision for $42,000.
