 10. Inglis 2002 Spring Thoroughbred Sale

03/09/2002

Catalogues will be available later this week for the 2002 Spring Thoroughbred Sale featuring 128 mixed lots including 72 tried racehorses, 42 broodmares, 9 yearlings and 5 unbroken stock on Friday 20th September, Newmarket.

The broodmare section includes quality mares in foal to Bite the Bullet (USA), Catbird, Danewin, King's Best (USA), Mujahid (USA), Real Quiet (USA), Redoute's Choice, Secret Savings (USA), Spectrum (IRE), and Xaar (GB), etc.

A highlight of the sale will be the dispersal of stock from Hilton Cope's Kelvinside Stud featuring CLASSIC VICTORY (Lot 36), dam of Group One winner Al Mansour, in foal to Redoute's Choice; SPINNAKER BAY (Lot 37), dam of stakes performers Fluoro, Monterosso and Fluoro's Sister, in foal to King's Best (USA); and stakes-winning mare TWILIGHT HOUR (NZ) (Lot 38) in foal to King's Best (USA).

Outstanding racemare NANNY MAROON (Lot 84) will also have plenty of admirers, along with her unraced three year old half-sister LOLLIPOP GIRL (Lot 85) and mother FYZABAD (Lot 33), offered with a positive test to Kentucky Derby winner Real Quiet (USA).
Nanny Maroon is a winner of 11 races and $395,440 including four Listed events, not to mention a brave third placing to champion racehorse Sunline in the STC Coolmore Classic Gr 1 earlier this year. She is entered as a racing and breeding proposition giving her new owners the chance to race on for further success or retire her for a romantic tryst with the stallion of their choice.

Further highlights in the broodmare section include: RANCHO AURO (Lot 31), a half-sister to AJC Oaks Gr 1 heroine Kenbelle and full sister to stakes-winner Auranch, in foal to Danewin; VITORIA (Lot 28) winning grand-daughter of former star filly Diamond Shower, in foal to Xaar (GB); and MOMOWLAM (Lot 30), a half-sister to South African Group One winner The Delegator, in foal to Mujahid (USA).

The racehorse section includes metropolitan performers: Pride and Power, Avoire Elle, Rulings, Plea Bargain, American Oak, Ashton, Mirage Lover, etc.
Supplementary entries will be taken until Friday 13th September.
