 5. Bon Voyage Testa Rossa

01/10/2002

Story By Chris Scholtz

Outstanding sprinter Testa Rossa’s international pedigree has attracted the attention of Europe with the young stallion set to serve a shuttle season in France.

It has been reported that French stud farm Haras du Petit Tellier has arranged for Testa Rossa to shuttle from Victoria’s Yallambee Stud for the 2003 northern hemisphere season

He will be following in the footsteps of other noted Australian-bred sires Octagonal, Flying Spur and Dracula who have shuttled to France and England in recent years.

Testa Rossa should be warmly received by European breeders as he is by Danzig’s highly successful Perugino, a three-quarter brother to Ireland’s champion sire Sadler’s Wells.

Testa Rossa began stud duty at Yallambee last spring after winning 13 of his 24 starts including six Group 1 races and more than $3 million prizemoney.

Haras du Petit Tellier is located near near Sevigny and currently stands Chelsea Manor and River Bay.
