Millions Catalogue to Be Launched at Aushorse Awards

Millions will launch the much anticipated catalogue for the Conrad Jupiters
Magic Millions 2003 Yearling Sale at a special event in Sydney to coincide with
the the inaugural Aushorse Thoroughbred Media Awards. |
Seven
awards – the Australian Thoroughbred Journalist of the Year prize includes
five nights for two at Conrad Jupiters Hotel & Resort during the 2003 Magic
Millions Racing Carnival, with air fares and $1,000 cash -- will be presented at
Arena at Fox Studios on November 22.
The cocktail party at Arena will feature memorable interviews with Magic
Millions representatives including John & Julie Singleton, conducted by Fox
Sports journalist and popular racegoer Caroline Searcy.
Aushorse and Magic Millions will host national thoroughbred media and guests
including Magic Millions’ leading yearling purchasers and leading consignors.
A strictly limited number of tickets to the inaugural Aushorse Thoroughbred
Media Awads and Conrad Jupiters Magic Millions catalogue launch are available at
$80 per person.
Magic Millions managing director David Chester said awards aimed at encouraging
quality reportage of the breeding, sales and bloodstock facet of the Australian
thoroughbred industry was an exciting initiative.
“For many years, some of the best journalists in Australia have been turf
reporters, and there is every sign that tradition will continue, but it is also
important to recognize that behind the great spectacle of our racing carnivals,
there’s a thoroughbred breeding industry that is second only to North America
in size and importance,” he said.
"There are some great stories behind our racetrack champions, stories that
begin long before they ever hit the turf,” he added.
“We are very excited about the Magic Millions catalogue, and we’re confident
that guests at the awards and catalogue launch will be equally positive about
what we have on offer in 2003,” said Chester.
