Rory’s
Jester, as has become commonplace over the years, has produced a smart youngster
in the bunch of early juveniles in the form of the speeding filly Fashion
Victim.
A member of the David Hall stable Fashion Victim scored an impressive debut win
against some highly regarded rivals in last Monday’s Maribyrnong Trial Stakes
at Flemington. After showing good speed out of the gates the daughter of
Rory’s Jester held her opposition at bay for a strong win.
Connections have a good opinion of Fashion Victim and they will send the lightly
framed filly to the paddock in preparation for a tilt at the Conrad Jupiter’s
Magic Millions Classic on the Gold Coast in January.
“She’s a nice filly,” David Hall said after the win. “Although there
isn’t much to her at this stage she has plenty of ability and there are better
things in store for her.”
A half sister to last season’s close up Caulfield Cup placegetter Celestial
Show, Fashion Victim is just another exciting youngster by the king of the
two-year-olds Rory’s Jester.
He is the sire of a swag of top class Group winners including the record
breaking North Boy, who will clash with a small but select field in Saturday’s
Group Two Schillaci Stakes at Caulfield.
A winner of the Golden Slipper on the track, Rory’s Jester has developed into
one of the country’s most proven and popular colonial sires ever to stand in
Australia.
He will be serving a select book of mares at Collingrove Victoria this season.
