Inglis Graduates scored a double at Happy Valley last Wednesday night with
Eternal Start (1998 Easter $90,000) and talented sprinter Green Diamond (1999
Autumn $23,500).
The Alex Wong trained five year old Green Diamond overcame some roughhouse
tactics to record a narrow win, bringing his overall record to three wins, two
placings and prizemoney in excess of $300,000 from just five starts.
"He's done the job well tonight - he's got hit under the eye by another
horse's tooth in the early trouble in the race and it cut his eye open,"
reported jockey Douglas Whyte.
"He came back with blood pouring down his face and I thought for a minute
he might have bled."
Green Diamond was bred and offered for sale by Tamarin Stud in Victoria. He's a
son of former brilliant sprinter Mookta, winner of both the VRC Newmarket H Gr 1
and VATC Oakleigh P Gr 1.
Last Tycoon (IRE) is always near the top of the leading sires list in Hong Kong
and Eternal Start is another of his progeny to find success in this testing
racing environment.
The six year old is from the good producer Out of Africa (GB), who's daughters
have produced classy racemares Brief Kiss and Picholine. Eternal Start has now
won three races and close to $300,000 in prizemoney.
