 61. Fuji Kiseki hits the spotlight

15/05/2002

Fuji Dancer (ex Dancer's Glory by Danzatore) gave her young sire Fuji Kiseki his second stakes winner this season in Australia, when she won the LR Gibson Carmichael Stakes, over 1600 metres at Flemington on Saturday May 11 2002.

Her trainer David Racovolis gave most of the credit for the win to leading rider Damien Oliver, who had ridden Fuji Dancer into third pacing in the LR Anzac Day Stakes.

Oliver told Racovolis to apply a tongue-tie and to ride the filly back in the field. Racovolis, duly added the new gear and relayed Oliver's suggestions to his rider Vlad Duric, who followed them to the letter.

Both trainer and jockey were rewarded with an impressive performace from Fuji Dancer who won going away from Sanguinity (Runyon - Rigoler) by 1-1/4 lengths with another 4-1/4 lengths back to Work of Heart (Revoque - Sculpture's Blue) in third position.
