Scone H.T.B.A. Yearling Sale
Sale ring action focuses on Australia's horse capital this week, with the annual Scone Yearling Sale on Sunday, preceded by the Scone Thoroughbred Sale on Thursday. Sandwiched in between, is all the fun and excitement of the Scone Cup meeting on Friday, featuring the $204,000 Scone Inglis Challenge and William Inglis Dark Jewel Classic. The Scone Inglis Challenge is a restricted race for two year olds sold at last year's Scone Yearling Sale and Sires' Produce Yearling Sale. Nominations were taken this morning and the top twenty in prizemoney order appear on the next page. Leading chances appear to be the two Randwick trained fillies High Maintenance, from the Bob Thomsen stable and Royal Catch prepared by Grahame Begg. Top prizemoney earner is the Tim Martin trained gelding Delusional, who will be tough to beat if he can regain top form. The powerful Graeme Rogerson stable will be represented by Hawkesbury winner Lion Pride, a talented son of leading first season sire Lion Hunter. Astute trainer Albert Stapleford, who saddled last year's winner Sweet Chloe, looks to have another live chance with improving type Inatin. The Secret Savings (USA) filly is coming off a solid second at Canterbury and has been tuned up with an easy barrier trial win at Gosford last Friday. Contenders
