A union between three of the Hunter Valley’s leading racing and breeding figures is set to resurrect the Star Kingdom male line at the famous Baramul Stud.
Baramul is the stud where the great Star Kingdom wrote a major chapter in Australian breeding history and where two of his best sire sons Todman and Biscay commenced their stud careers.
Taking the Star Kingdom male line back to this great stud this year is the young Marscay stallion Reenact.
Brian Russell reports that the G1 winner is to stand in the ownership of a syndicate comprising Baramul Stud owner Gerry Harvey and Geoff and Berryl White, the couple who raced Biscay’s outstanding son Marscay and Reenact among their many notable Group winners.
The Whites, who also own Bhima Stud at Scone, have retained 20 shares in Reenact with the remainder now on the market at $16,500 each with the bonus of nominations in each of his first four years.
Reenact, who will stand at $5500, was bred and raced by the
Whites and was trained by Jack Denham to win the G1 QTC Sires’ Produce Stakes after his Randwick placings in the G1 AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes, G1 Champagne Stakes and G2 Breeders’ Plate in his two-year-old season.
At three he won the G2 Grand Prix Stakes and was placed in both the G1 AJC Derby and G1 Queensland Derby.
Reenact represents a cross of the Star Kingdom line with the imposing Mr. Prospector blood through his dam Role.
Role is by one of Mr Prospector’s best sons Gulch, the sire of winners of more than 1000 races and $US43 million with his offspring including the champion dual hemisphere sire Thunder Gulch.
Role was from the US classic winner Class Play, a daughter of multiple stakeswinner Patelin.
