Galileo; Indian Danehill; Val Royal; Traditionally.
* Champion colt Galileo will be the headline new shuttle sire at Coolmore Stud this spring.
The son of Sadler’s Wells will fill a void in the Coolmore roster created by the removal from this year’s list of Woodman.
Galileo was the first son of 11-time champion sire Sadler’s Wells to win the English Derby and also added the G1 King Gorge VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes, G1 Irish Derby and the G1 2000 Guineas at Newmarket to his record.
His pedigree is world class, his champion dam Urban Sea (by Miswaki) being a Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner and half sister to English 2000 Guineas winner King’s Best.
* Another top class imported Danehill stallion will begin stud duty in Australia this year with the G1 winner Indian Danehill going to Lindsay Park Stud in South Australia.
Indian Danehill will stand in SA under arrangement between the Irish National Stud and Lindsay Park in partnership with other SA studs Kambula and Lakewood Studs.
Indian Danehill, from the Green Dancer mare Danse Indienne, won the G1 Prix Ganay before beginning his stud career this year.
His Australian stud fee has been set at $9,000 plus GST.
* Royal Academy’s Breeders’ Cup Mile winner Val Royal will begin his stud career in South Africa.
Val Royal was recently purchased in a joint deal by South Africa’s Maine Chance Farm and Odessa Farm, where he will stand.
Val Royal was retired in April due to a tendon injury after winning seven of his 12 starts.
Apart from his record win in the BC Mile he also landed the G2 Prix Guillaume d’Ornano, G2 Del Mar Derby and G3 Prix de Guich
The French-bred stallion is out of the winning Bikala mare Vadlava and is a half brother to G2 winner Vadlawys and stakes winner Vadlamixa.
* Mr. Prospector’s G1 winner Traditionally has been purchased for an undisclosed price by Ireland’s Ballylinch Stud.
He will begin his Irish stud career next year but may be looked at as a potential shuttle sire for Australia as Ballyinch also controls shuttle horses King’s Theatre and Soviet Star.
Traditionally, who was raced by the recently deceased Ogden Phipps, won five of 20 starts including the G1 Oaklawn Handicap.
He is one three Group winners produced by the undefeated champion mare Personal
