38. Windsor Park Buy Eight Carat's Daughter

New Zealand’s Windsor Park Stud has added another prized mare to its quality collection of broodmares.
Stud owner Nelson Schick has bid $A380,000 to secure the unraced Sir Tristram mare, La Brillante (ex Eight Carat) – a sister to Windsor Park’s very successful resident stallion Kaapstad who is the second leading sire of stakes-winners in Australasia this season.

"It was a great opportunity for the stud to buy such a top-quality stakes-producing mare from the best thoroughbred family in Australasia," said Windsor Park Stud manager Steve Till.

"She is in foal to Thunder Gulch, a stallion we have always rated very highly, and we felt she represented very good value on the market," Till said.

La Brillante is already the dam of a Listed race winner, Philidor.
