 24. Danehill Influence at the Broodmare Sale

06/05/2002

Super sire Danehill (USA) has begun the European season with a bang, capturing the Newmarket 2000 Guineas with Rock of Gibraltar, just a week after his top class daughter Aquarelliste resumed with a win in the Longchamp Prix Ganay Gr 1.
After scratchings, there is just one mare still to be offered with a positive test to Danehill.

The matron in question is FLY THE FLAG (Lot 841), a winning sister to Melbourne Cup winner Brew, from champion racemare Horlicks.

Her pedigree can be seen in the Additonal Entries booklet and she will be offered today with the other Arrowfield mares after Lot 385.

Daughters of Danehill are likely to be in strong demand over the next two days of the Australian Broodmare Sale.

Highlights among the Danehill mares include: Lot 415, SKATES, stakes-placed daughter of Group One winner Skating, served by Fusaichi Pegasus (USA); Lot 490, VAIN HILL, stakes-placed half-sister to Group One winner Keltrice, served by Red Ransom (USA).

Lot 493, HILL OF PEACE (GB), winning half-sister to French stakes-winner Alliteration, first season at stud, served by King's Best (USA).

Lot 565, ROSE OR GINA, winning half-sister to stakes-winners Exclusive Halo and Miss Jugah, served by Fusaichi Pegasus (USA).

Lot 691, MISS DENMARK, stakes-placed sister to stakes-winner Turtle Bay, first season at stud, served by Thunder Gulch (USA).
