Despite being one of the success stories of the Australian Yearling Sales circuit in the past three months, the service fee of Eliza Park's young sensation General Nediym hasn't changed. Most insiders in the industry were expecting the General's fee of last season ($9,500 inc GST) to be increased after the demand for his youngsters and the top prices being achieved in sales rings in four states.

The first yearlings by General Nediym were offered for sale at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale on the Gold Coast and in a great result all six of his offerings were sold at an average price of $57,500.

Demand for his youngsters hit sky high when three members of his first crop were sold at an average price of $83,333 at the Premier Yearling Sale in Melbourne.

The highlight of the Melbourne sale was the sale of his Red Sundae colt to the Chefs on the Run Syndicate for $135,000.

During the following week another General Nediym realised a top price at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale in Adelaide. Astute Queensland trainer Gerald Ryan paid $63,000 for the youngster ex Trendy Press.

If already "The General" hadn't impressed the hard judges then his sale topping feat at the recent Magic Millions Premier Yearling Sale on the Gold Coast must have.

A colt from Rose County was knocked down for the topping price of $90,000. Consigned by Norwood Stud the winning bidder was Tang Weng Fei.

In all 26 yearlings by General Nediym were sold at sales throughout the country for a healthy average price of nearly $45,000.

Eliza Park have confirmed that General Nediym will be standing for $9,500 (inc GST) again during the 2002 breeding season.

The other service fees are Black Hawk ($13,750), Desert Sun ($12,500), Jetball ($8,000), Johan Cruyff ($8,250), Northern Drake ($6,500). An announcement of the fee for Festival Hall will be made shortly.
