Facts about the Group One Coolmore Classic (1500m) 

to be run at Rosehill on Saturday

* First run in 1973, The Coolmore Classic is Australia's only Group One event specifically for fillies and mares.

* Past winners include Princess Talaria (1978), Sheraco (1982), Emancipation (1984), Bounding Away (1987), Skating (1993), Assertive Lass (1997) and Sunline (2000).

* The Coolmore Classic has also been formerly known as The Rosemount Classic, The Orlando Wines Classic and The Winfield Classic.

* Newcastle trainer Max Lees has trained five winners - Satin Sand (1986), Quicksilver Cindy (1991), Flitter (1995), Chlorophyll (1996) and Shindig (1998).

* Emancipation and Sunline are the only winners to have carried the maximum weight of 60kg.

* Since 1980 the race has been won by nine fillies, nine four-year-olds and four five-year-olds.

* Sunline will be out to create history by being the only horse to win the race more than once.

* Bart Cummings, who is without a runner in this year's race, has trained four Coolmore Classic winners including Sheraco who in 1982 completed the Coolmore Classic-Arrowfield Stud Stakes double.

* John Marshall has ridden three winners; Jim Cassidy who rides Ha Ha in this year's race, Shane Dye and Mick Dittman have each ridden two winners.

* Current Sydney premiership-leading trainer Gai Waterhouse, who won with Assertive Lass in 1997, will be represented by star three-year-old Ha Ha and stakeswinning mare Primrose Sands.
