Victorian-based sire Jugah has proven again that he is the most consistent son of the great Northern Dancer at stud in Australia.

Brian Russell reports that Jugah’s success continues unabated as he will end the 2001-2002 season with his progeny earning more than $1 million prizemoney for the tenth successive season.

Based at Eldon Park Stud at Tyabb on the Mornington Peninsula where he stand at a fee of $6000, Jugah will end the season with progeny earnings in excess of $1.3 million, taking his career tally to almost $19 million from nearly 300 individual winners of more than 900 races.

He has been Victoria’s champion sire five times and has been represented by 15 stakes winners and 31 stakes performers.
with a an excellent winners to runners ration of 70 percent.

His outstanding progeny include the Group One winners Juggler (15 wins/$2,528,479), Soho Square (9 wins/$1,472.399) and Mookta (6 wins/$803,400).

Jugah’s current star is the classy mare Libidinious, who won two stakes in succession before finishing second in the G1 Goodwood Handicap at Morphettville last month.

She has been followed by the two-year-old filly Secret Desire, who was having only her fourth start when she easily won the Red Ruby Series final at Ballarat on June 16.
