Clarry Conners showed he had another very smart youngster in his Warwick Farm stables when his two-year-old filly Adventurous Rose trounced older horses in winning a Maiden Plate over 1200 metres by 4 1/2 lengths at Wyong on July 25.

Appearing in public for only the second time, the winner is from the first crop of Adventurous, the lightly raced Fairy King stallion who defeated Saintly in winning the Craven Plate at Randwick as a three-year-old in1996.

Now standing on a fee of $3300 at Di Hill's Foxes Hollow Stud at Oakdale, ninety minutes drive south west of the heart of Sydney, Adventurous got Adventurous Rose from Rose Basket, a half-sister by Sharp Edge to the stakes winners Bold Rancher and Red Rancher and a daughter of VATC Debutante Stakes winner Rose of St George.

Conners also trains Italian Adventure, an Adventurous gelding they thought enough of to contest the Golden Slipper with after two thirds in Sydney.
