 63. Six Weanlings By Danehill’s Brother At Dubbo

23/07/2002

Nuclear Freeze, a full brother to the mighty Danehill and to Eagle Eyed, the sire of Gamesman, a winner at Rosehill on Saturday, is to have six of his first crop weanlings available at Peter Milling & Company’s annual winter sale scheduled to be held on the Dubbo Showgrounds on Sunday next July 28, reports Brian Russell.

NUCLEAR FREEZE
The youngsters are to be offered by Dr J.D.Woolridge’s Inverness Stud at Bowral, NSW. Inverness is the home for Nuclear Freeze, a son of Danzig which only raced three times, all in Great Britain, but who earned prize money in each outing including a win by two and a half lengths in a mile race for three-year-olds at Thirsk.

His Dubbo weanlings are among 22 of this age group in the Dubbo catalogue. Two of the others are by a former Coolmore shuttle sire, Honour and Glory, while other sires represented in this section include Opera Prince, Armidale,Vain Karioi and Carry the Crown. The latter two sires have been standing at the currently dispersing Lucernevale Stud at Dubbo.

There are 73 lots in the catalogue all told with the others including 12 yearlings and 17 broodmares. Among the mares are daughters of Sanction, Century, Red Anchor, Salieri, Snaadee, Shining Finish, Without Fear and Nuclear Freeze’s brother Eagle Eyed.

There is also a filly in the yearling section by Eagle Eyed and in addition progeny of Simonstad, Canny Lad, Langfuhr, Let Down, Ali-Royal, Sandpit, Opera Prince and Coronation Day. The biggest percentage of the horses on offer can be expected to sell well below $10,000.
