 59. Reviewed Tops Glen Avon Lodge Dispersal

A large crowd was in attendance for the dispersal sale of Fred Brown’s Glen Avon Lodge on the Darling Downs in Queensland on Sunday 21st July 2002. Conducted by the Magic Millions Sales Company the 174 lots for unreserved sale grossed $840,000 at an average $4,828. Heinrich Bloodstock paid the top price of $85,000 for the Double Century mare Reviewed the dam of stakes-winner Sir Breakfast. 


ADMIRALTY 
Weanlings by Strawberry Road’s son Admiralty proved popular. A half-brother to Sir Breakfast by Admiralty was the sales top priced weanling at $46,000. Like the top priced mare, the purchaser was Heinrich Bloodstock. 

Interstate buyers were prominent and included Stuart Ramsey of the Ramsey Pastoral Company NSW who purchased 20 mares in total. Neville Begg attended and bought lot 57 Admiralty/Stage Name weanling filly for $10,000 and Scone based agent Megan Kelso purchased the only Lion Hunter Weanling in the sale for $15,500. 

Brisbane trainer Robert Heathcote paid $11,000 for the Knowledge half-sister to stakes-winners Chenar and Hello Pamela. Kelso Wood trainer of Awesome Weather purchased the Knowledge half-brother to Awesome Weather for $11,500, and he also purchased the half-brother to Moonee Valley winner Just Devine by Admiralty for $22,000.
