Rebel Gaze, a lightly raced brother to the magnificent galloper Intergaze, starts his stud career this year, standing on a fee of $1750 alongside Group One winner Prince Salieri at Paul and Sue Edwards' Silverlei Lodge Stud at Kingsthorpe between Toowoomba and Oakey. Now a popular sire at the historic Widden Stud in the Hunter Valley region, Intergaze is the horse which won12 races including eight at Group One level and earned $3,774,806. His first progeny are to race in the 2003-04 racing year and he is expected to be another good Australian bred sire.

A handsome chestnut very much like Intergaze, the brother Rebel Gaze, was in the hands of the same trainer, Rod Craig at Warwick Farm and showed good promise with a win by 3 1/2 lengths in a trial on the home track but had to be withdrawn from racing after only a handful of starts.

Also a brother to Inspect, a winner of several races at Randwick, runnner up in the AJC Australia Day Cup and fourth in the Group Two VATC St George Stakes, Rebel Gaze has an impressive international pedigree. His sire Integra is a son of a former leading English two-year-old, Lunchtime, and goes back on the bottom line of his pedigree to a daughter of one of Australia's greatest racehorses, Ajax.

Rebel Gaze, like Intergaze and Inspect, was bred by Sydney businessman Peter Bennett when he owned the Middlebrook Valley Lodge Stud near Scone in the Hunter Valley and is from the American bred Tempergaze, a daughter of champion three-year-old Temperence Hll and Secregaze, a mare by an American immortal, Secretariat.

The third dam, Magazine, won the Coaching Club of America Oaks and was from a half-sister to White Star Line, a winner of three Group One races at three including the Kentucky Oaks.
