 41. WA Stud Snares Boom Irish Sire

13/07/2002

Danetime, a high class son of Danehill who has made a big impact with his first northern hemisphere crop, will stand at stud in Western Australia this spring.

Bellbridge Park Stud has arranged for Danetime to shuttle from Ireland for the next three years.

His arrival will be a big boost for the local stallion ranks as he has already produced 17 individual two-year-old winners from his first Irsh-bred crop racing this year.

He stands at Tally Ho Stud in Ireland and is currently the leading first season sire in Europe.

Perth bloodstock agent John Chalmers arranged the lease of Danetime for Bellbridge Park Park, beating off major eastern states studs in the hunt for the boom sire.

The owners of Bellbridge Park Michael and Siobhan Campbell set their sights on Danetime as a replacement for Corporate Raider, who died last month.

Danetime was a 1200m winner at two and at three won the Steward’s Cup at Goodwood and was placed in the G1 Haydock Park Sprint Cup He also won at Newmarket and went on to be placed in the G1 July Cup at Newmarket and the G3 Duke Of York Stakes at York.

Danetime will stand his first Australian season at a fee of $7700.
