 27. Gooree Park Stud Reduction

08/07/2002

A highlight of the upcoming Winter Thoroughbred Sale at Newmarket will be a reduction of stock from Mr Eduardo Cojuangco's Gooree Park Stud, featuring 21 broodmares in foal to some of our most popular stallions, as well as four race fillies and one gelding.

The Gooree Stud draft includes: Lot 53 ENDLESS WONDER, three-quarter sister to stakes-winner Broto, by Danehill (USA), closely related to stakes-winners Actress and Ete Pins, served by Real Quiet (USA); Lot 54 ESTANCIA, by Dehere (USA) from VRC Oaks winner Sandy's Pleasure, served by Snippets; Lot 56, GLINT OF GOLD, winning sister to Group Two winner Precious Glitter, served by Hurricane Sky; Lot 58, JUST BLOOMING, winner of the Canberra Black Opal Stakes Gr 2 and second in the Golden Slipper, served by Peintre Celebre (USA); Lot 61, SUDDEN, stakes-winning dam of Golden Slipper winner Burst, unfortunately not in foal; Lot 63, RUSH FOR GOLD (USA), stakes-placed dam of Precious Glitter, served by Belong to Me (USA); Lot 65, SANDY'S HILL, placed half-sister to Sandy's Pleasure, by Danehill (USA), served by Octagonal (NZ); Lot 68, TOUCHSTONE, unraced half-sister to stakes-winner Valuate, served by Octagonal (NZ).

A metropolitan double at the weekend for first crop sire Langfuhr (Can) brings his overall tally of individual Australian winners for the season to nine, placing him third behind Lion Hunter (15) and King of Kings (Ire) (10). Not counted in the Langfuhr (Can) total is the smart Hong Kong juvenile winner Little Elephant, who adds further lustre to his young sire's record.

The Lucernevale Stud Dispersal features four well related weanlings by Langfuhr (Can): Lot 109, filly from Largesse, a full sister to Group Two winner Chaleyer; Lot 111, filly from talented racemare Our Sally, metropolitan winner of six races and more than $85,000; Lot 115, filly from Cincinnati Sal, full sister to stakes-placed Zillionaire; Lot 116, filly from Heaven's Eyes, winning daughter of Vain, from Group Two winner Glory Girl.
