 25. First Stakes Winner For Distorted Humor

Those breeders that supported Distorted Humor in his two seasons at stud in Victoria will be feeling pleased with themselves today after Distorted Humor’s two-year old daughter Awesome Humor won the Grade 3 Debutante Stakes at Churchill Downs by two lengths. She becomes the first stakes winners from the initial crop by the duel Grade 2 winning son of Forty Niner. 

DISTORTED HUMOR 
A $45,000 but at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July sale Awesome Humor is unbeaten from 2 starts after debuting with a win in a maiden at Keeneland in April where she became her sires first winner. Awesome Humor is out of the Pass The Tab mare Horns Gray a multiple stakes winner of 12 of her 52 starts for earnings of over $120,000. Horns Gray is out of Cox’s Angel (Cox’s Ridge) an unraced half sister to Arlington Washington Futurity (G1) winner All Fired Up (Timeless Moment). 

Distorted Humor was a multiple Grade 2 winner of 8 races and almost US$770,000. His victories included the Commonwealth Breeders' Cup S. (G2), Churchill Downs H. (G2), Ack Ack H. (G3), Salvator Mile H. (G3) and Screen King Stakes. He was also Grade 1 placed in the Cigar Mile H. Distorted Humor retired to Winstar Farm Kentucky and Grand Lodge Thoroughbreds, Victoria in 1999. The chestnut covered 79 mares in Australia in 1999 and 81 in 2000 the last year he shuttled.
