Sought-after shares in young Danehill stallion Keeper and a five percent interest in Group One winner Viking Ruler are on the market.
The opportunity to buy into these outstanding sire prospects is a result of leading Kiwi figure Terry Jarvis’ decision to sell his breeding interests that includes The Oaks Stud, one of the Waikato’s leading thoroughbred nurseries.
Jarvis purchased The Oaks in 1998 but has made a surprise decision to quit his breeding interests. Apart from the stud Jarvis has placed on the market a sensational list of world class bloodstock.
Jarvis is offering his prized collection of 40 broodmares and 34
foals as well as a selection of racehorses and his interests in Keeper and Viking Ruler, who will begin stud duty at New Zealand’s Cambridge Stud next year.
The line up includes Zabeel’s outstanding daughter Hill Of Grace (G1 Ansett Australia Stakes and G2 Moonee Valley Oaks), CentaIne mare Sequel (G2 Hardy Brothers Classic) and Damaschino (Listed winner and G1 placed.).
One of the jewels among the broodmares is A Goodlookin Broad (Listed winner and G3 placed in the USA) in foal to Fusaichi Pegasus. A Goodlookin Broad is the dam of Jarvis’ outstanding Nureyev colt Pure Theatre, who he is retaining for racing.
Other breeding stock include Last Tycoon mare, Miss Trump, a half-sister to Caulfield Guines winner Lonhro, in foal to Zabeel; Fairy Lights (by Fairy King, family of Germano, Fantastic Bid and Pilsudski) in foal to Faltaat; Misty Gulch (by Gulch, a half-sister to the outstanding US G1 winner Cryptoclearance) in foal to Stravinsky; and Darwasha (by Robellino ex Dawala, the half-sister to French Derby winner and successful sire Darshaan)
Foals on offer are by a selection of high-class sires including Cape Cross, Marju, Stravinsky, Spinning World, Zabeel and Dream Well.
