Following the overall success of the Gold Coast Magic Millions Yearling Sale, Collingrove is delighted with results for our sires.
Heading the value for money list is DANEHILL DANCER (IRE). Capable of siring outstanding types and now proving himself on the track, progeny of Danehill Dancer sold up to $130,000 and averaged $91,250. Not bad for a stallion whose service fee in past years has been $8,250 (inc gst). His fee is sure to rise for 2002, but has not been yet set.
PERUGINO (USA), who offered his second only Australian crop also sold well. The sire of Testa Rossa, Sudurka and Tickle My, had five to sell in the Magic Millions Premier session. Results included a top price of $120,000 and an average of $80, 500.
Perugino with his only Australian crop racing has sired 46 runners for 31 individual winners including 3 stakes winners and a Gr 3 placer. An excellent statistic by anyones' measure. Perugino will return to Collingrove for the 2002 breeding season and stand alongside Danehill Dancer.
Collingrove's grand old man, RORY'S JESTER now in his 20th year, sold 15 youngsters at the sale to average $85,666 and sell to $165,000. Rory's Jester continues to excel on the track and in the ring. Covering a limited book of mares last season, he returned 45 mares in foal from 52 covered. A very pleasing result!
In relation to the Collingrove draft for the Magic Millions Sale. Our average was $109,444 for 18 sold. Well above the sale average of $85,025.
Collingrove sells at the William Inglis Melbourne Premier Auction next. There we will offer 25 youngsters by sires like: Rory's Jester, Perugino, Celitc Swing, Jeune, Canny Lad, Generous, Marauding, Desert Sun, Success Express, Bluebird, Fraar, Bubble Gum Fellow, Lycius, Armidale, Distorted Humor and the one and only DANEHILL in the sale.
