118. New South Wales Thoroughbred Breeders Weekend Racing News

In Sydney 09.02.02

Rosehill was the venue for an eight event card in Sydney on Saturday, with the highlight being the Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes. It was a great day for TBNSW members who recorded 3 winners (including the Group 2 event), 4 second placings and 3 third placings.

 

TBNSW members were off to a flying start with the winner in Race 1 the Esanda Finance Handicap. Helsinborg (Danehill(USA)-Antwerp) bred by Woodlands Stud was successful from Snow Hero (True Hero(USA)-Sammoan Moon) with Cosmic Rays (Geiger Counter(USA)-Lovestruck) in third position.

 

It was a second placing for TBNSW members in Race 3 the Millie Fox Stakes a listed race for fillies and mares over 1200 metres. Triko (Groucho-Take the Blame) scored from Vita (Thunder Gulch(USA)-Penita(AR)) bred by Mrs S E Suduk with Pirouettes (Danehill Dancer(IRE)-Coureuse) third.

 

The Group 2 Sir James Silver Slipper Stakes was Race 4 on the program and TBNSW members provided the winner. In an all fillies finish, Victory Vein (Mr Henrysee(USA)-Protective) bred by Meringo Stud Farm was too good for Chuckle (Danehill(USA)-Clowning) with Air of Grace (Vettori(IRE)-All Done) in third place.

 

TBNSW members provided the trifecta in Race 5 the Heartland Holden Monaro Handicap. when Treasure Time (Secret Savings(USA)-Zaghaareed(USA)) bred by Emirates Park Pty Limited was successful from Damowin (Danehill(USA)-Orwhina) bred by Bhima Pty Limited with Participate (Brief Truce(USA)-Flamboyant) bred by Woodlands Stud in third position.

 

It was second and third placings for TBNSW members in Race 6 the Frederick Clissold Stakes a Group 3 event over 1200 metres. Lord Essex (Scenic(IRE)-Darling Bess) won from Crawl (Dr Grace(NZ)-Traipse) bred by Woodlands Stud with Dottoressa (Dr Grace(NZ)-Sweet Refrain) bred by Rheinwood Pastoral Company in third place.

 

Another second placing for TBNSW members in Race 7 the Parramatta Leagues Club Parramatta Cup a listed race over 2000 metres. Kaapgun(NZ)(Kaapstad(NZ)-Bibi Star) scored from Time Off (Night Shift(USA)-Sonolia(NZ)) bred by Woodlands Stud with Manner Hill (Danehill(USA)-Mannerism) third.

 

TBNSW members finished the day with a third placing in Race 8 the Holden Rodeo Handicap when Norman’s Way (Lordly Looker(NZ)-Homeleigh Belle) was successful from Gamesman (Eagle Eyed(USA)-No Finer) with Shoemaker (Celestial Bounty(IRE)-Slingbacks) bred by Mrs W B Ingram and Mr R L Ingram in third place.

 

 

In Sydney 10.02.02

Warwick Farm was the venue for the eight event Sunday meeting in Sydney at the weekend. It was another good day for TBNSW members who recorded 5 winners, 3 second placings and 1 third placing.

 

TBNSW members were off to a flying start in Race 1 the Cordale Handicap providing the winner. Blue Suttarb (Forest Glow(USA)-Vicelike) bred by Barador Pty Limited was successful from Phondil Way (Dolphin Street(FR)-Atlantic Lover) with Ari Banu (Our Poetic Prince-Santa Belle in third position.

 

It was a second placing for TBNSW members in Race 3 the Veiled Threat Handicap when Veloce (Pprego(IRE)-Raise a Gallop) won from Lili Marlene (Kaaptive Edition(NZ)-Universal Lady) bred by Mr JR and Mrs P D Cribb with Onyx (Sri Pekan-Black Jewel) third.

 

It was a quinella for TBNSW members in Race 4 the Empyrean Handicap. County Tyrone (Danewin-Nice Choice) bred by Emirates Park Pty Limited was successful from Dashiki (Strategic-Snipperty) bred by Woodlands Stud with Here Comes Johnny (Dehere(USA)-Coolie Cool) in third place.

 

TBNSW members recorded another quinella in Race 5 the Cuddle Handicap(2) when Soul Singer (Danehill(USA)-Areatha) bred by Mr P Horwitz scored from Laetitia (Woodman(USA)-Planet Hollywood) bred by Mrs S E Suduk with Eyes and Tees (Bureaucracy(NZ)-Welsh Karioi) in third position.

 

TBNSW members provided the winner in Race 6 the Grenoble Handicap when Bror saluted. Bror (Quest for Fame(GB)-Blixen) bred by Woodlands Stud was too good for Marfoo Star(NZ)(Maroof(USA)-Slick Star(NZ)) with Shannanigan (Desert Style(IRE)-Kibitka) third.

 

It was a third placing for TBNSW members in Race 7 the Straight Draw Handicap when The Builder(NZ)(Lord Ballina-Sound Approach) won from Joshua Michael(NZ)(He is Risen(USA)-Beaute Cheval(NZ)) with Adam’s Luck (Desert Style(IRE)-Sharp in Slippery) bred by Mr C D and Mrs J J Ellis in third place.

 

TBNSW members finished the day with a winner in Race 8 the Blue Legend Handicap. Friendly Seas (Mister C(USA)-Amiable Lady) bred by Mr F Peisah scored from Aerodramus (Mukddaam(USA)-Be Swift) with Babouchke (Abs(USA)-Princess Beautiful) third.

 

In Melbourne 9.02.02

Flemington was the venue for an eight event card on Saturday. TBNSW members recorded 4 winners (including a Group 1 win and a Group 3 win), 1 second placing and 1third placing on the day.

 

TBNSW members provided the winner in Race 2 the Teac Digital when Bunfight saluted. Bunfight (Vettori(IRE)-Party Time) bred by Tristan Antico Thoroughbreds was successful from Our Jermyn Street(NZ)(Grosvenor(NZ)-Street Dancer) with Skinjite(NZ))(Kinjite(NZ)-Sensuality) in third place.

 

It was a second placing for TBNSW members in Race 4 the Brighton Mazda Vanity a Group 3 event for three-year-old fillies. Gold Lottey (Encosta De Lago-Lottey) scored from Gradual (Strategic-Bambola) bred by Woodlands Stud with Born Priceless (Pricessly(USA)-Born Rich) in third position.

 

The highlight of the day was the Group 1 Lightning Stakes run over 1000 metres and it was great result for TBNSW members who provided the winner. Spinning Hill (Dolphin Street(FR)-Incline) bred by Mr O P Tait and Mrs S S Nivison was too good for Mistegic (Strategic-Volcanic Mist) with Chong Tong (Encosta De Lago-Coquetry) third.

 

Another winner for TBNSW members in Race 6 the Mitch Dowd R U Wearing Lucky Boxers Handicap when Vitelli was successful. Vitelli (Vettori(IRE)-Sell Your Soul) bred by Stratheden Stud scored from Classic Secret (Greig(NZ)-No Telling) with Jone’s Prophet(NZ) (Maroof(USA)-Trinket Box in third place.

 

TBNSW members provided the winner and the third placing in Race 7 The Debonair a Group 3 event over 1400 metres for three-year-old colts and geldings. Dash for Cash (Secret Savings(USA)-Guliston) bred by Emirates Park Pty Limited was successful from All Courage (Danzero-Runaway Babe) with Royal Code (Kings Theatre(IRE)-Crytomagic(USA)) bred by Mr L J Fleming in third position.

 

In Melbourne 10.02.02

Caulfield was the venue for Sunday racing in Melbourne which was highlighted by the Blue Diamond Preludes for the two-year-olds. TBNSW members recorded 1 winner, 4 second placings and a third placing on the day.

 

It was second and third placings for TBNSW members in Race 1 the Dantelah Handicap when Straight Ace (Final Card-Lyric Poetry) won from Sea Rover (Lake Coniston(IRE)-Sortie) bred by Woodlands Stud with Sir Talaq (At Talaq(USA)-French Sculptor) bred by Mr M A Carlile in third position.

 

A second placing for TBNSW members in the Group 3 AAMI Blue Diamond Prelude (C&G) Race 2 on the program. The flying Bel Esprit (Royal Academy(USA)-Bespoken) scored from Cool Trent (Nediym(IRE)-Canny Queen) bred by Emirates Park Pty Limited with Step Ahead (Entrepreneur(GB)-Tennessee Magic) third.

 

Race 3 was the AAMI Blue Diamond Prelude (F) a Group 3 event. Brief Embrace (Irgun(USA)-Tranquil Love) was too good for Coupe (Spinning World(USA)-Kingston Coup) with Romantic Flyer (Flying Spur-Batsman’s Ballad) in third place.

 

A second placing for TBNSW members in Race 4 the Moduline Plate. Born to Dream (Royal Academy(USA)-Dream About It) scored from Gypsy Geena (Woodman(USA)-Rose Reward(NZ)) bred by Mr Gerry Harvey with Carnebelle(NZ)(Carnegie(IRE)-Happiness(NZ)) third.

 

Another second placing for TBNSW members in Race 6 the Nuffield Handicap when Power and Rhythm(NZ(Victory Dance(IRE)-Bred to Succeed was successful from Dorfli (Grand Lodge(USA)-Mayenfield(NZ)) bred by Woodlands Stud with Irish Glen (Archway(IRE)-Reigning Glen(NZ)) in third position.

 

It was back to the winner’s circle for TBNSW members in Race 8 the Artic Scent Handicap when Extorted(USA) saluted. Extorted(USA)(Odyle(USA)-Extrovale(CAN)) bred by Mr L J Fleming was too good for Jewel of Kingston (Kingston Mill(USA)-Gemma Joan) with Kinjika (Kinjite(NZ)-Mika(NZ)) third.

 

In Brisbane 09.02.02

Eagle Farm was the venue for an 8 event program in Queensland on Saturday. TBNSW members recorded 1 winner, 1 second placing and 2 third placings on the day.

 

TBNSW members opened their account with a third placing in Race 2 the Keith 4 Wheels Handicap when Baal Yabba (Magic Ring(IRE)-Windscape) was successful from Lungu (Pure Genius(USA)-Lasting) with Oh Canny (Canny Lad-Chanson De Paris) bred by Emirates Park Pty Ltd in third place.

 

It was back to the winner’s circle for TBNSW members in Race 3 the Diamond International Handicap when Count Scenario saluted. Count Scenario (Scenic(IRE)-Rose Babu) bred by Mr A F Field was too good for Winsted (Cossack Warrior-Brianza(NZ)) with Awesome Weather (Just Awesome-Sea and Sun) third.

 

It was a third placing for TBNSW members in Race 5 the FM104 Triple M Young Members’ Cup. Ja Jar Binks (Star Way(GB)-Carpathia(NZ)) was successful from Sea Breeze (Sea Road-Rulenza(NZ)) with Tenuous (Sanction-Flimsy(NZ)) bred by Woodlands Stud in third position.

 

A second placing for TBNSW members in Race 6 the Paul Carter & Associates Handicap when Regal Tycoon (Flying Tycoon-Stolen Secret(NZ)) won from Prince Starlight (Telesto(NZ)-Go Lightly) bred by Mr K J Burke with Take Strike (Dr Grace(NZ)-Starmix(NZ)) third.
