The Queensland Principal Club together with the cooperation of the QTBOA, has announced the dates set for the Super QRIS Regional Championship Races carrying $210,000 and confirm the date of the two Super QRIS Championship finals worth $300,000 minimum.
As reported previously the Super QRIS Championship Race Series has been designed to attract the very best Super QRIS horses nation wide, and will be promoted to showcase the best of what Super QRIS is designed to deliver.
Another reminder of the 3 key issues surrounding the new Championship series that have been addressed in order to make the races as attractive as possible, and best promote Super QRIS are:
No extra pay up to be eligible to compete
All registered Super QRIS horses will be eligible to compete in the Super QRIS Championship Race Series.
Prizemoney
The prizemoney for the series finals will rise from $240,000 this year to $300,000 minimum for 2002.
Metropolitan Race Status
The two Championship Final races will carry metropolitan status for 2002 in order to best recognize the significance of these races, and feature in sale catalogue pedigree pages the successful families of these races to add to the value of stock.
The races will be run under quality handicap conditions with no claim for apprentices.
The winners of the Regional Championship Races will be exempt from any ballot for the Super QRIS Championship Finals to be held at the QTC Eagle Farm Racecourse on Saturday March 2, 2002.
If a ballot is required, horses will be eliminated in accordance with the Handicapper's preferential order.
In the case of all the Super QRIS Championship races, the advertised prize will be paid irrespective of whether the Super QRIS minimum starter requirement is met or not.
The standard Super QRIS unplaced starter subsidies will also apply to the Championship races.
Only horses registered for Super QRIS are eligible to compete in the Super QRIS Championship Race Series.
