4. Dam of Easy Rocking and Fairy King Prawn recognised by the TBA

Thoroughbred Breeders Australia (TBA) has selected Twiglet to be recognised as the latest winner of the coveted Australian Broodmare of the Year award

A 1987 foal by the imported stallion Twig Moss (Fr), Twiglet has both been to the fore on the domestic front and on a global basis as the dam of not one but two individual Group 1 winners worldwide.

In Australia, Twiglet's handsome bay entire son Easy Rocking (by Barathea-Ire) has proven to be one of our very finest sprinters, capping off an outstanding career by winning the Group 1 VRC Salinger Stakes during the 2000 VRC Melbourne Cup Carnival.

Overseas, the international acclaimed Fairy King Prawn (by Danehill-USA) has competed with distinction in events conducted far and wide, winning the Chairman's Prize-G1-amongst many other prestigious events- in Hong Kong and the Tokyo Yasuda Kinen-G1 in Japan during the first half of last year. There was also his ultra-game second in Dubai Duty Free Cup-G2 in the United Arab Emirates.

And Twiglet's illustrious sons seem destined to bestow further honour on the family in time to come.

Fairy King Prawn, currently in Japan in preparation for his next top-level assignment, is at the height of his racing powers and can be expected to win many more feature events before the curtain falls on his phenomenal career.

Easy Rocking, on the other hand, commences his stud duties at Wattle Brae Stud, located on the historic Darling Downs of Queensland, in the coming breeding season and promises to be a resounding success as a sire.
