 83. TBNSW Breeders Weekend Racing News

Black type racing was in full swing on Saturday with Sydney hosting 3 Group 2 races and 2 listed races and Melbourne hosting a Group 2 event and 3 listed races. TBNSW members had a great weekend collecting all 4 of the Group 2 events and well as providing the quinella in two of those events.

 

In Sydney 24.8.02

Warwick Farm was the venue for black type racing in Sydney with 8 events on the program. The highlights of the meeting were the Group 2 Silver Shadow Stakes, the Group 2 Up and Coming Stakes and the Group 2 Warwick Stakes. It was a great day for TBNSW members who recorded 4 winners (3 of which were Group 2 wins) and 3 second placings on the day.

 

TBNSW members opened their account with a winner in Race 3 the Silver Shadow Stakes a Group 2 event for 3YO fillies over 1200 metres when Victory Vein saluted. Victory Vein (Mr Henrysee(USA)-Protective) bred by Meringo Stud Farm was too good for Chatelaine (Flying Spur-Midnight Renegade) with Calaway Gal (Clang-Calais Royale) third.

 

Another winner for TBNSW members in Race 4 the Group 2 Up and Coming Stakes a 1200 metre event for 3YO colts and geldings when Snowland scored. Snowland (Snippets-Snowdrift(FR)) bred by Stratheden Stud was successful from Thorn Park (Spinning World(USA)-Joy) with Star of Florida (Telesto(NZ)-Try It On) in third place.

 

TBNSW members provided the quinella in Race 5 the Group 2 San Miguel Warwick Stakes. Defier (Dehere(USA)-Lilande) bred by Bhima Pty Limited won from Lonhro (Octagonal(NZ)-Shadea(NZ)) bred by Woodlands Stud with Republic Lass (Canny Lad-Swift Seasons) in third place.

 

It was a second placing for TBNSW members in Race 6 the Workout World Miranda Show County Quality a listed race over 1200 metres. Presently (Unbridled’s Song(USA)-Centaine’s Gift(NZ)) scored from Oomph (Flying Spur-Nobellotto) bred by Letmar Investments Pty Limited with National Saint(NZ)(St Covet-Oh Sister) third.

 

Race 7 on the program was the listed Toy Show Quality Handicap. Youhadyourwarning(USA)(Warning(GB)-Youm Jadeed) won from Size Her Up (Success Express(USA)-Cindest) with Winona (Bluebird(USA)-Occasions) in third place.

 

TBNSW members were back in the winner’s circle and provided the quinella in the last race on the card the Workout World Chatswood Transitional Handicap. Desert Brigadier (Desert Style(IRE)-Regal Slippers(NZ)) bred by Mr K T Jones Jnr was successful from The Diva (Keltrice-Desert Beauty) bred by Mr D Rex with Musical Beat (Palace Music(USA)-Georgie Lady) third.

 

In Melbourne 24.8.02

Caulfield hosted an 8 event card with the highlight being the Group 2 JJ Liston Stakes. TBNSW members recorded 1 winner (the Group 2 event) and 2 second placings on the day.

 

Race 3 on the program was the RSL Vain Stakes a listed race over 1200 metres. Delago Brom (Encosta de Lago-Brompton Cross) won from Great Glen (Regal Classic(CAN)-Great Manners) with Broadband (Langfuhr(CAN)-News Box(NZ)) third.

 

Race 4 was the Melbourne Legacy Quezette Stakes a listed race run over 1200 metres. Innovation Girl (Rubiton-Bright Gleam) scored from Raven Protector (Hector Protector(USA)-Raven Runner(USA)) with Brief Embrace (Irgun(USA)-Tranquil Love) in third place.

 

TBNSW members opened their account with the quinella in the main event on the program, the Group 2 JJ Liston Stakes. Sports (Zeditave-Olympic Flame) bred by Woodlands Stud was successful from Le Zagaletta (Last Tycoon(IRE)-Swiftsynd) bred by Bhima No 8 Breeding Partnership with Tully Thunder (Thunder Gulch(USA)-Fleur De Chine(NZ)) in third position.

 

It was a second placing for TBNSW members in Race 7 the Sir Edward Dunlop Research Foundation Stakes, a listed race over 1200 metres. Pernod(NZ)(Centaine-Martine Michelle(NZ)) won from Calming (Zeditave-All Kisses) bred by Milburn Creek Thoroughbreds with Miss La La (Rancho Ruler-Bold Sculptress) third.

 

In Brisbane 24.8.02

Doomben was the venue in Brisbane on Saturday with 8 events contested. TBNSW members recorded 3 second placings and 3 third placings on the day.

 

TBNSW members opened their account with a second placing in Race 1 the Indian Lodge QTIS 3YO Colts & Geldings Handicap. Strictly Smart (Strictly Ballroom-Agent Smart) won from Interstorm (Integra-Deep Pile) bred by Mr R M Lapointe with Crown Regatta (Crown Jester-Fleet Krisie) third.

 

It was a second placing for TBNSW members in Race 2 the Treasury Casino Handicap. Sammy (Flying Tycoon-Optimate) was successful from Final Forecast (Tierce-Light Me Up) bred by Milburn Creek Thoroughbreds with Huge Year (Puissance(GB)-Biscalynn) in third place.

 

It was a third placing for TBNSW members in Race 5 the Cleanevent NMW Handicap. Idealistic (Cossack Warrior-Goddess of Beauty) was successful from Malumba(NZ)(Norman’s Palace(NZ)-Cupid’s Dart) with Zuccaro (Zeditave-Interiors) bred by Mr G J Fischl in third position.

 

Another third placing for TBNSW members in Race 7 the Navigator 4YO Mares & Up Class 6 Handicap. I’m In Heaven(NZ)(Volksraad(GB)-Cent from Heaven(NZ)) scored from Riviera Treasure (Dantibes-Hide the Treasure) with Cantrip (Canny Lad-Migvie(NZ)) bred by Woodlands Stud in third place.

 

TBNSW members finished the day with second and third placings in Race 8 the McGirvan Media Handicap. Chenar (Just Awesome-Bionic Flash) won from May Royal (Table Limit(USA)-Alto Flyer) bred by Corumbene Stud Syndicate with Dane News (Danehill(USA)-Palace News) bred by Mr Gerry Harvey in third position.
