Four-year old mare Azeri won her eighth race from nine starts, taking her earnings to over $1million, with an easy two-length victory over Angel’s Gift in the $300,000 Clement L. Hirsch H. (G2) at Del Mar on Sunday. Arguably the best mare currently racing in the U.S. Azeri is a daughter of an Australian bred mare as is the runner-up Angel’s Gift. 

Azeri (Jade Hunter) is a daughter of 1992 NJC Coca Cola Classic (G3) winner Zodiac Miss (Ahonoora- Capriconia by Try My Best) while the runner-up Angel’s Gift (Allen’s Prospect) is a daughter of Strawberry Road’s sister Whiskey’s Gift (Whiskey Road-Giftisa by Rich Gift). 

Azeri adds the victory in the Clement L. Hirsch H. (G2) to an amazing record this year in which she has captured the Santa Margarita H. (G1), Apple Blossom H. (G1), Milady H. (G1) and the Vanity H. (G1).
