 10. Magic Millions August Mixed Sale

At the close of the Magic Millions Annual August Mixed Sale on Sunday a total of 114 lots sold of the 186 catalogued. This has been the largest August Mixed Sale in the history of Magic Millions and the results have shown the market remains strong. 

YEARLINGS 
Lot 38A of the Supplementary Catalogue, the impressive chestnut colt by Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner General Nediym out of Luskin Star mare Filnova, topped the sale selling for $44,000 to Riverslea Farm, NSW. 
Another General Nediym Colt sold well at $31,000 to Derry Park of QLD, the colt was out of a First Norman metropolitan-winning mare in Carnlough a half-sister to the great horse in Castletown. 


Lion Hunter proved popular once again with the filly out of What A Guest mare Sacahuista, making $26,000, also selling to Derry Park, QLD. 
Lot 3 a bay colt by Shovhog out of Kuaka Lady sold to Washpool Thoroughbreds, QLD for $23,000.

2YO's 
The top price for the 2YO's, $19,500 was paid by Jack Krygsman of Singapore for the bay colt by Shovhog out of Star Way mare Fickle Star, a half-brother to two winners, grandam stakes-winner Fickle Hostess. 
Lot 48, Danehill Dancer colt out of Vice Sovereign sold for $18,000 to Washpool Thoroughbreds of Queensland.

BROODMARES 
Kingston Park Stud of Victoria paid the top price of the sale, $42,500 for the outstanding Flying Spur chestnut mare out of stakes-placed Secreto mare Mezzanella. Offered for sale by Strawberry Hill Stud of Mt White, NSW. 
$40,000 was paid by Ramsey Pastoral Company for Lot 60 Kuri Bay, an internationally bred winning Summer Squall mare who is a half-sister to three Stakes-winners. 
After the close of the sale, Lot 150 Inception (dam of stakes-winner Our Cutey) originally passed at auction, sold to Croxley Stud, QLD for $30,000.
