 40. Vinery Announces 2002 Service Fees

18/04/2002

Vinery Australia has confirmed service fees for an outstanding roster of 10 international sires to stand at the Hunter Valley stud next spring.

The Vinery roster has been increased by two, the newcomers to the list being Danzig’s multiple G1 performer Brahms and the proven Forty Niner stallion Twining, a horse who has ranked in the top 20 sires in the US every year since 1996.

Brahms will stand his first season in Australia at $16,500 (inc. GST) and Twining will be offered at $15,400.

The headline horse at Vinery remains Red Ransom, who will stand at $44,000 including GST.

This represents a significant reduction from the $66,000 he was offered at in 2001, surprising in view of his continuing northern hemisphere success and the fact that his Easter yearlings at Newmarket averaged more than $130,000.

Vinery has also reduced the service fee the outstanding Gilded Time from $27,500 to $22,000, again a surprise after his first Australian-bred yearlings averaged more than $112,000 at Easter.

The full list of Vinery Australia service fees for 2002 (including GST) is:
