 36. Woodlands Stud A Dual Winner NSW Awards

At a glittering gala dinner on Wednesday evening to honour the achievements of the master trainer Bart Cummings, Thoroughbred Breeders NSW Ltd presented their annual awards for the NSW Champion Sires and Broodmare .
DANEHILL Champion NSW Sire for 2000-2001

Champion NSW Sire for 2000-2001 was DANEHILL, the greatest influence on breeding in this country since Star Kingdom. Danehill stands at Coolmore on the Hunter River and has sired over 166 Stakes winners and his progeny have won over $126.1million.

STRATEGIC - Champion NSW First Season Sire for 2000-2001

Champion NSW First Season Sire for 2000-2001 was STRATEGIC who stands at Woodlands Stud at Cootamundra and who has already sired 7 Stakes winners including Mistegic and Fair Embrace. This most handsome chestnut is a son of Zeditave and is from a daughter of Luskin Star from a daughter of Todman.

ANTWERP - Champion NSW Broodmare for 2000-2001 

Champion NSW Broodmare for 2000-2001 was the regally bred mare ANTWERP who is by Sir Tristram and is from the Sticks and Stones Gr1 winner Diamond Lover from the family of Octagonal. She is the mother of Australia's champion 2yo, Viscount and she resides at Woodlands Stud at Denman. 

The Association also presented magnificent trophies to the breeders of the AJC Australian Derby winner, Sir Patrick Hogan and Lady Hogan and to the breeder of the AJC Australian Oaks winner, Mr. Dean Fleming.

All awards were presented by Mr J B Cummings who was introduced and welcomed by the President of the TBNSW, Mr Richard Turnley.
