 30. New Wave Of Danehill Sons

12/04/2002

The first progeny by a new wave of Danehill’s sons will be a feature of the 2002 Australian Select Weanling Sale at Newmarket on May 3.

Last year's sale achieved an average price of $22,706 and clearance rate of nearly 90% and the catalogue now available augers for even better results.

William Inglis and Son will offer 320 quality weanlings by many established sires including Canny Lad, Danehill, Danehill Dancer, Danzero, Desert Sun, Encosta De Lago, Fuji Kiseki, Grand Lodge, Honour And Glory, Hurricane Sky, Marauding, Nureyev, Octagonal, Quest for Fame, Secret Savings, Snippets, Spectrum, Strategic, Success Express, Thunder Gulch, Woodman and Zeditave.

However the biggest appeal of a sale such as this is the first sale ring appearance of some high profile first season sires, providing buyers with an opportunity to form an early opinion of their stock before next year’s major yearling sales.

The catalogue reflects the overwhelming growth of the Danehill sireline as it contains first crop yearlings by his outstanding sons Arena, Catbird, Commands, Dangerous and Redoute's Choice.

Other first crop sires represented include: Dr Fong, Fasliyev, Favorite Trick, Intergaze, Northern Drake, Real Quiet, Second Empire and Xaar.

Among the weanlings on offer are a filly by Red Ransom from South African champion filly Tracy's Element, a daughter of legendary producer Princess Tracy; a half-brother to G1 winner Sublimate by Strategic; a Redoute's Choice colt from Champagne Stakes winner Euphoria, and a half-brother to dual G1 winner Juanmo by first season sire Way of Light.
